Today I was gifted two ANI banana plants - and I can't find any information on them. Is anyone familiar with them? I live in the mountains of the southern zone of Costa Rica.

Im not familiar with that name, and seems like a local name not in wide use. Any chance to post photos of the plants or fruits?

Sorry, it's ADI.

Have pics but don't see the "gallery" feature for uploading them.

That's it!! Thanks druss! I'm amazed that you found it in the patent list. I never would have thought of looking there. Though it does provide an excellent detailed accounting of just what this banana is!!

Well, excellent. I have a new one to add to the collection. And resistant to TR4 - That's what's most important since we recently discovered we have TR1 and actually have a lot less of it than any of our neighbors. (But we do have over 150 Gros Michele giant and dwarf.)

Resistance Reigns!!

We're in the southern zone of Costa Rica, in the mountains at 1200 meters. The precise pueblito is called San Ramon Norte. We're rehabing a coffee farm, trying to restore organic sanity.

Part of the rehab has included planting bananas and platanos, so far around 400 plants of 30 different types. We enjoy the diversity.

These ABI plants and some FHIA-23 were gifted to us by the national banana group.

You're in Australia?
