Hi, ya'll! :D :birthdaynana:

I'm in Seattle, and around New Years picked up a 4" Dwarf Cavendish Banana that was looking pretty sad at my local nursery. Three months later, it's about two feet tall and putting up a new leaf almost weekly! Now I'm hooked and looking for advice on how to keep it and future bananas healthy and happy.

I'll be honest, I'm all about fruit. I would love to grow a Blue Java, or another dwarf variety that can be happy(ish) in a pot indoors in winter and outdoors in the spring and summer.

Thanks!
Alex

Welcome, just an fyi though I am pretty sure blue java grows into a pretty tall banana plant.

Welcome Alex. For me blue java always leans and flowers at about 14’!

If I was growing in a pot my first choice would be Musa Raja Puri (the real one)
My 2nd pick would be a super dwarf cavendish. But you already have a dwarf cav.
3rd pick would be a dwarf Orinoco.
4th maybe a dwarf Brazilian.

Hope I helped.
Good luck and keep us updated!!

For me Dwarf Braziian is a beautiful plant, wind resistant and grows like crazy and very easy to grow. I do grow the others as well.
Happy growing
