Alabama Gulf Coast. I've grown several bananas outdoors year-round; and seem to add something new each year. Some edible; some ornamental only.
Musa 'raja puri' - one of the easiest to produce edible bananas for zone 8b/9a.
and a couple of unknown edible varieties.
Musa velutina = Pink banana
Musa 'Black Thai'
Musa sikkimensis 'Bordelon
Musa rojo (Zebrina)
Musa 'Truly Tiny'
Ensete ventricosum 'Maurelli'

I'm growing in Foley. I planted several varieties last March that I ordered online. Got my first flower last week on an unknown variety. Nice to know there's a fellow enthusiast in the area, I'll be separating my pups in the next few months, maybe we can do some trading. Here's a link for a video walkthrough of my project
