Hector you should patent your banana planting technique. You have designed an assembly line for creating a banana forest! So many varieties and they all look great!
Make sure you get some good photos of your patupi when it flowers!

It would be great, if you could get the newly planted Ae Ae and Florida to flower at the same time, they are looking beautiful.

One more question for you. Do your Paggi and Tu'u Ghia need to be propped?
Thanks,

Thanks,
Bill
Bill,
Yes!.....I suggest, advice to prop/brace both of them!.....But specially Musa Tu'u Ghia!......Musa Tu'u Ghia P-Stem is too skinny!....Mine got knocked down during hurricane Dorian passing by very close to South Florida!.....
Please check the thread http://www.bananas.org/f2/musa-tuu-ghia-update-49733.html
Also, Musa Paggi looks more robust than Musa Tu'u Ghia but she develops a big Nana bunch!....I suggest propping/brace Musa Paggi as well!....

Hey Hector thanks for the update!
Are there two patupis in that photo? Looks like the main plant plus a plant/pup 3/4 the size of the main plant directly behind. I noticed it in an earlier photo you posted but thought it was a mirage.
Thanks again!

Hector, I always love watching the progress of your banana plants. If it weren't for the weight, I'd 100% use your silica and pearlite combo for soil medium.
Let's get an update again soon please! Especially when it's winter here.. at least I can watch someone else's grow while mine are sleeping!

NANNA PLANT IN DISTRESS!.....WHAT!.....Must be that Moonshine you are drinking!.....:ha::ha::ha:......I might hire someone!.....Ohhh!.....I know who!....I want to see you guys apologizing more frequently!......:ha::ha::ha:......
Seriously, I just left the Nana Mat rhizome to get exposed like that!....I will dig out the whole rhizome to thin out the Nana Mat!....
For potted Nana plants I used coarse sand with lots of perlite mix as a medium!....Also, most of my potted Nana plants are in my house balcony, until they are ready to go to the ground!....During winter time, I know in Orlando, FL, gets cold during winter time, you might need to bring your potted Nanas inside in your house or keep them in a Greenhouse!.....Make sure to use growth lights to keep them growing!.......There are nice threads/posts in here, the forum, mentioning some very good methods to keep potted Nanas during winter time!....

Dwarf Niño keeps pushing out the flower bud!.....I have no doubts that flower is from an AA Nana Variety!
Dwarf Niño flower bud is out!....It should start positioning down now!......I have no doubts is an AA Nana Variety!......Look at the flower!.....
Hector, I told you when you first posted a photo of the Dwarf Nino that Tytaylor77 sent you that it was not a Dwarf Nino.
Everyone that saw your photo should have been able to realize that your banana was not a dwarf, and if it's not a dwarf it can't be a Dwarf Nino.
If you had simply measured a leaf blade and divided the length by the width you would have realized that it was not a dwarf.
Unfortunately it's very common for some seller's to ship the wrong bananas and that's why buyer's should take a few minutes to learn the basics about identifying a banana.

Next, you should have looked at your banana for signs of balbisiana.
The Dwarf Nino is an 'AA' diploid and has no signs of balbisiana.
Again, everyone that saw your photo should have been able to realize that your banana has balbisiana in it so it can't be a Dwarf Nino or any other 'AA' diploid or 'AAA' triploid.
Next, you should try to determine the amount of balbisiana it has.
Again, everyone that saw your photo should have been able to realize that your banana has a heavy amount of balbisana and most likely is an 'ABB' type.
There was never a chance that your banana was a Dwarf Nino because everything pointed to an 'ABB'
It should never have taken you over a year to figure that out.
The next step was to figure out which 'ABB' cultivar Tytaylor77 sent you.
Also, the "supposedly" prior Dwarf Niño turned out to be the Musa Monthan!
It was not surprising that your 'AA' Dwarf Nino turned out to be an 'ABB' Monthan.

When someone attacks Hector (Helendez) that puts them at an all time low. He is the most generous, kindest, and selfless person I have met in my entire life. I do not say that lightly. And a great friend of mine. Everyone who knows him knows how much he has sacrificed for his family, friends, and country. And even this community!
The clone was not sold but was given to him to grow out in his warmer conditions to see what it was. It was labeled niño Enano from Puerto Rico lol.
How you word what you write and repeat to call out “everyone” for missing the ID after the fact just shows how little you think of “everyone” compared to yourself.
Hector bro please keep posting your updates and pictures! I for one support you 100% and absolutely love your posts! Please don’t be be phased by the comments of someone I have 0 respect for. You are doing an amazing job bro!
Besides any good grower will wait for a flower to confirm an ID. Which is exactly what you did! The rest of your comments was early excitement and is exactly what makes you such a great person! keep it up!

I have seen a few wum's on this forum over the years, but you completely take the biscuit, how you managed, not too have been banned on this forum I'll never know.
Instead of mentioning if a "Dwarf Nino turned out to be a ABB Monthan" maybe you need to ask yourself why you sent a fake off/type clone Goldfinger instead of a true type FHIA-1 Goldfinger, shouldn't you know the difference.
Always remember never burn bridges, because you might need too cross one.

I've never sent a "fake off/type clone Goldfinger" to anyone and the moderator should ban you for lying.
Please post a quote about your "fake off/type clone Goldfinger".
I was the first member to make a thread showing members photos of the Real Goldfinger from planting to harvest and how to identify it.
I made that thread because all the photos of the FHIA Goldfinger members on the mainland were posting were photos of a different FHIA cultivar. The thread was supposed to help members learn how to identify their FHIA cultivar without just telling them what it was. Some members were upset when I said their banana was not a Goldfinger so I called it the "American Goldfinger". This gave those members a temporary name for their banana until they figured out what it was. I figured once they realized what they were growing they would drop the name "American Goldfinger" and call it by it's real FHIA name.

This is my quote from Jun 6, 2018. It was written two days after Hector posted a photo of his young plant and it certainly wasn't after the fact.

That doesn't look like a Niño and it doesn't even appear to be a dwarf.
It does look like a beautiful plant, congrats.

I wasn't calling out other members.
Distinguishing between an "AA" diploid and "ABB" triploid is so basic I truly believe most of our members immediately realized that you did not send Hector a Dwarf Nino.

You didn't send me a fake FHIA -1 Goldfinger, but you know very well who you sent it to, someone who tried to contact you multiple times with out a reply, as you knew he was going to flower and fruit it and it was a fake.
Funny thing is now you are trying to contact him and he has no intention of replying to you.

Honestly, I'd rather never have Red French Plantain than acquire it though this seller. Small or large offer, this guy does not reply. Almost like he lives for this sort of drama. He literally never replied until both times I DM'd him and I told him I wasn't interested anymore. He's not getting a third chance.
I have purchased from countles sellers and have never experienced such poor communication before. It makes it even worse that he attacks everyone he knows on online forums when he feels threatened.
Hector is seriously one of the kindest people I know.. he makes everybody feel happy even if their plants aren't that impressive. Like mine for instance. I grow only basjoo in the ground and he makes me feel professional. He literally congratulates everyone he sees who has ever been happy about Musa. If he misidentifies a plant and is patient to wait for a bloom, so what? All you see is economy and you have forgotten the true passion for Musa. Time to go back to the basics. Why did you get into Musa in the first place?
I have over 300 varieties of different plants and I make mistakes sometimes. It's human nature man. Seriously come down to earth every once in a while.
Constructive criticism is the best way to go about things. Treat your peers with respect. Since you think about money all the time, you reap what you sow. if you are diligent in responses and nice to people, you will make more money. It has always been a facet of economics.
Anyways I hope this doesn't happen again. Constructively criticize your friends. Don't butcher their love for banana plants by being rude.

Mentioning companies is a no no.
I am here for the plants too..it does not matter what kind.
Many new forum members need direction and this is a good platform to help.
Generally everyone wants to do good.......I think.
This thread seems to be about new plants a member has acquired and apparently it went off the rails when plants were distributed,
misidentified and integrity questioned.
I have the plant in question also and love it.
The plant was received as a late season bare root pup and now the plant is an eight foot beast under dim lights for the winter.
This will be my 2nd observable season with it.........I might get a flower in 2022:)
The plant I got...I will take it as a bonus.

Great to see, FHIA-2 Mona Lisa doing well, can't believe how quickly you root and get growth on your corms, Dwarf Red is looking good, I'm really interested how tall you get this to fruit, as i am hoping to fruit a dwarf red in a very large pot, in the near future.
Can't remember if you have Musa Saba, if you do, how dose the fruit compare with Praying Hands, taste wise.
Strange seeing a banana opening female flower's after Male flower's regarding Musa Monthan.

Mushtaq,
Thank you bro!...It happened to me in the past, that the nubs takes over the main corm!....Basically, (most of the time, not all the time) the bigger nubs takes all the energy from the main corm, therefore the main corm sacrifices, for the nubs to make it!....You have more chances separating the nubs for the main corm to get established!.....Also, with the size of this Musa Ele'Ele corm (huge), it helps to get established quickly, fast!....

glad you liked the reds, growing nicely. I had several survive last years winter but they didn't grow well after that along with number of other varieties. maybe next year. seems like winter is a little hard on the dwr. have a friend I gave one to but she covers hers in the winter. looks fantastic, but she hasn't got it to fruit yet. [keeps moving it around]
got my first taste of praying hands bananas. finished at the end of November almost exactly 6 months. half again what you got, but there were a total of 33 bananas. maybe next year I will see more rain.
a really thick, heavy, creamy banana, I could see my teeth marks in the banana as I ate it. I ate the first one yellow. the center of the banana was finished with no stick in the middle like others do but...…..
:p :p :p :p :p :p tasted like vanilla extract, BLECH. not to be eated YELLOW!!!!!
the raja puri were nice tasting, rather like pealing berries. pretty much the same taste as the cavendish. and 6 months of watching and waiting.
heres to a better next year.

the raja puri were nice tasting, rather like pealing berries. pretty much the same taste as the cavendish. and 6 months of watching and waiting.
heres to a better next year.

Master Beam,
Really thank you for sending the awesome Dwarf Red’s!.....I appreciate it buddy!....Once she opens 4-5 leaves, Dwarf Red will be transplant it to the ground!....Hopefully she grows awesome for me!....
I’m glad that you tasted Musa Praying Hands too!....Wooohoooo!.....You also confirmed in the vanilla taste/flavor!.....I told you!....I sent some Musa Praying Hands to my bro Ty in Texas recently!....Ty was in shock!....He couldn’t believe the creamy vanillla taste of Praying Hands!....I was visiting Going Bananas in Homestead, Florida, when I first tasted Praying Hands years ago!.....As my bro Ty, I was in shock too!....Instantly Praying Hands became one of my favorite Nana Varieties!....I definitely had to grow it!....
