My stepdad has a dwarf Cavendish from fastgrowingtrees.com that keeps putting up water suckers. I want to tissue culture one. Could I make a media with coconut milk for the cytokine, food grade agar and nutritional yeast? I just already have those things in my kitchen, and tend to have more hobbies than I can fund. What sort of salts do the plants need, would the natural salts in coconut water be enough? It's canned coconut cream, but the only added ingredient is guar gum. Would canning have destroyed the cytokine? Is it a patented cultivar?

I wonder if just coconut water and agar would do it. Coconut water has carbs, vitamins, minerals and cytokines.

If you seriously want to try TC, you will need a lot more equipment and knowledge regarding the actual equipment and techniques. I suggest learning about basic plant TC methodology first.
In coconuts, the cytokinins are in the fresh water of young green coconuts, not the milk which is made from the kernel of mature nuts. But bananas don't even need cytokinins in TC anyway.
I wouldn't waste time trying to make your own medium. Media in TC is the cheap and easy part, just buy the right stuff: https://phytotechlab.com/musa-banana-multiplication-medium.html

I was under the impression that the cytokines promoted the development of multiple shoots from each peice of apical meristem instead of just one dominant shoot

I'm gonna give it a shot, instant pot and still air box

Depends on the species, dosage, and your goals.

Gabes got some points.
The Medium at phytolabs is what I used when I was doing TCing. I found that growing mushrooms was much easier than Tcing Bananas. so I stopped. :)
However I was also checking out Cytokines in coconut water as I was going to use them for MACRO propagation and trying to get more shoots to pop. I didn't want to be using BAP as that can be potentially dangerous if handled wrong and I have kids around here.
I have however been thinking about watering my macro's with the banana culturing medium minus the agar to see what that does.
Here's some info on coconut water:
