Hey Everyone.... I have been looking for some Definitive way to tell if something is Reeeeally a Dwarf Brazilian.
Some sites show pics of a plant with a "Dirty Rachis" and some show a plant with a clean one. I have posted a link to one of Venturabananas pics that is supposed to be Dwarf Brazilian, but yet in the Wiki, the pic for Dwarf Brazilian looks clean Can someone please tell me which is or if both are and how to tell?

Paul,

A True To Type/Real Dwarf Brazilian has persistent male flowers and bracts like that!.......As you said for a "dirty rachis" look!......A True To Type/Real Tall Brazilian male flowers and bracts falls off right away for a "clean rachis" look!....

Check this out!......http://www.bananas.org/f15/dwarf-brazilian-vs-tall-brazilian-1839.html

Thanks..... The pic of the Tall posted by Gabe on that thread is one of the photos I keep seeing for Dwarf Brazilian. So, Both Brazilians but one is tall and one is dwarf. If Listed as Dwarf, it is either wrong pic or wrong ID.

Dwarf Brazilian always has the messy rachis. Always.

Tall Braziilan doesn't. But the fruit taste identical.

The pic you posted is the Dwarf.
Most persistent growth on the rachis of any banana I know of. Nothing falls off it. I find it funny how the tall is completely clean. Delicious banana. In my top 5.
I have one that flowers between 9-11 feet and the rachis is messy for a while then clean for a while but never as messy as the dwarf. Taste the same, though.
