Exactly 8 feet tall yellowish plants with very large long leaves. Tends to bloom close to freezing but the plants are hardy otherwise. A mystery gift of unknown origin.

At first I thought, Brazilian, looking at the plant growth and structure, but Brazilians have different colored flowers and are done making bananas and begin with male flowers immediately upon the flower's turn toward the ground.
Probably something in the Pome family I bet.
Brazilians are very cold hardy and disease / pest resistant. Small fruits, but not too small, but very tasty, one of my favorites. Also known as the Hawaiian Apple banana.

I have 4 varieties of pome and outside of those 4 the rest are pretty rare in the states. None of them make this tiny buds and hands are normally fuller. Pome bases are often thick and these bases are slender. They also have a yellowish hugh.

I agree looks like a Pome of some sort at this stage, but of course keep posting photos to clarify as it develops. Perhaps an off-type?

I think there is a perspective issue. The photos I don't think allow a good view. If it does end up being a pome that would actually be pretty cool. I have the 4 main ones, a 5th mystery one and that would give me 6. I have had this plant for a while and have never seen another like it.

One thing I note is that the bell doesn't try to create the lotus look like the rest of my other pomes and is very tiny especially to the height of the plant. https://scontent.ftpa1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/r270/45208531_2113046905382766_1041849759091916800_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&_nc_ht=scontent.ftpa1-2.fna&oh=2f9c284975439fcfaca08c98790a027e&oe=5C4478FE
