My main 2.5 year dwarf Cavendish plant has three large pup next to it (stalk is about a 28 inches) and two really tiny pups next to it. I am new to the game. What am I supposed to do with three larger pups? I would think they are sucking the nutrients. But then aren't you supposed to leave a pup for when the main plant dies? What do I do with the two tiny pups? For anyone who answers, the spot of my plant(s) is the only area in my garden where I can plant so I'm not looking for suggestions like "transplant the pups". I'm trying to figure out, in the one space where this growing, what I leave there and what I cut out. Thanks!!

Ed, our weather is cooling off and growth will slow. 28" is short for Cavendish. I'd wait until next Spring before transplanting 2 pups into tall 15 gallon pots. I'd choose the tallest and the shortest pup -- leaving the midsize pup for possible fruit in 2020.
