This guy is claiming on facebook these cavendish only took 3 months. Thoughts? I feel like maybe I have been sleeping in a cave somewhere.

His quote.
"Chuck Ellison: 3 months for cavendish... the skin will still be green. They'll be yellow then in a week after cutting"

I saw that post. I thought they took longer, but I'm a newbie so I don't know for sure.

I've had 7 bunches ripen and they averaged around 6 months I think I had 2 ripen in 5 months, right now there two hanging, I took off the bottom hand and I am feeding both a lot of potassium. The first ones hands are starting to get thicker on the top hands so maybe I'll get it to fill a little shorter time? But maybe in the tropics it would be 3 months?

I remember reading that for commercial banana production in the tropics the bunches were usually harvested after only 13 weeks which is close to three months. I do not remember the source of this information and keep in mind this is for banana cultivation in the tropics.

Now I promise to start treating my cavendish better.
