Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has ever purchased plants from this source?
Musa & Heliconia (http://www.bkinterplants.com/index.php/musa-heliconia.html)

No, but the entire site appears to be a bunch of B.S. In particular, a phytosanitary certificate in Thailand is $90 U.S. dollars and the prices are far below that.

I have not ordered from them.

What is catching your eye that you want?

There are a few decent mail-order nurserys in South/Central Florida that have hard to find plants.

I wouldn't order from any website that does not give their location. But from some of the banana name I think they are in Thailand or Asia at lest.

I know more about heliconia than musa and I can tell you that the names of the "heliconia" being sold are BS but the plants are indeed very rare and valuable to collectors.

These:

aren't even heliconias, as alleged, but, are probably rare cultivars of calathea crotalifera.

If I were guaranteed healthy plants, I would jump at the chance to buy them.

I don't know about $90 phytos but I have gotten lots of things from Thailand and the phyto was around$20. My boxes were opened inspected and resealed by customs. This company is on many tropical forums and knowledge of their location is common knowledge across that spectrum. You should research the tropical forums.

Only time I have managed to root banana corms from Thailand, is by using BK interplants, they use imidachloprid on their corms, which is a insecticide solution, some of the corms I have received from them haven't been in great condition, but they always root for me,

comparing to other plants nurseries in Thailand which I have used in the past, when I planted the corms they just rotted no matter how good the corm looked.
