The one I am interested in he called Seda but I am not finding plants by that name. Any thoughts on a proper ID ?
Also anyone else getting annoying amazon prize popups on this site lately ?

They sell the seda here but they call it cashew banana. I was wondering myself and glad you brought this up.

what I have been able to find on seda is; a silk banana, gros michel strain. also called platano dominico. aab cultivar of musa sapentium.
might be considered a plantain. might be able to get it from pr giants in Puerto Rico. and might be somewhat cold hardy?

If that works found by copying your description directly into google. It's in spanish but looks promising. Also photos are buggy as hell from a mobile device so hopefully one of those links works. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://bibliotecadigital.agronet.gov.co/bitstream/11348/3996/1/174.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiw4M34xdncAhUNOawKHTupBQQQFjAMegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw3q_wcrQOShfZz0cieDvlZF is the full file.http://<a href=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=63359&limit=recent><img src=http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=63359 border=0></a>http://gallery/showphoto.php?photo=63359&limit=recent]http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=63359[/url]

most of what I found came from here in search. a member from Ecuador named lorax. he mentioned seda in a number of threads. a lot of what I found on google was in Spanish. did find some in English. I did see on google that it was prevalent in Puerto Rico.

From having them in Ecuador a few years ago, my understanding is that Seda there is a Gros Michel hybrid, which is what they tasted like.
