New here with a question about this little guy. So this sprouted from one of my bigger trees so we broke it off and put it in a pot with organic potting soil. After about 2 weeks it started to look like this so I pulled it out and stuck it in the ground.
Is it worth saving with the bottom of the stem looking like that. Before I put it in the ground I hosed off the roots and everything then placed it in the ground with some fertilizer.
Thanks for any help

The plant looks Ok. Leave it alone and be careful not to water to much. soggy ground or standing water is not what you want.

If that black area is mushy to your touch it is bad news.

Yeah it was mushy but after I put it in the ground it dried up. I figured it was bad news but the top leaf keep opening up and getting bigger. The roots were white and hard, not black or brown.
