Hello All,
I just recently got my 1st plant, a dwarf Cavendish which i have placed in a 2 foot cube planter.
Its current location gets 10+ hours of sun per day, i Water it deeply every 2-3 days depending on the weather. Zone 10a.
I average 1 new leaf per week, but the last 2-3 leaves have had brown spots on the new leaf roll, and when the leaf opens there are sections missing.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Is my plant being stressed out by the move? It has been in the new container for ~ 1 month.

Thank you
Your plant will sort itself out in a few weeks/months.You are correct ......the plant is showing signs of distress of the transplant.
For me this seems normal......you have a few variables.

I did not know it until I read your post. Are bananas dead?

I have gotten 2 new leaves since i posted this, and the issues seem to be improving.
I will post pictures of the new growth later tonight

Leaves are what economists call a "Trailing Indicator". They tell you what happened a while back, not what the current situation is. Your leaves indicate some sort of stress, probably 7-10 days before the leaves appeared. Stress could have been overwatering, underwatering, sudden change in climate, sun exposure, recent root disturbance, such as repotting. The fact the the subsequent leaves look normal indicates that the plant is no longer stressed and returning to normal health. Generally, if you are the newest leaf is fine, then what happened in the past is no longer a concern, though you might want to try and identify the issue so that it is not repeated.

This plant shipped to me (southern California) from a grower in Missouri. I acclimated it to the sun/heat for about 1 week (increasing time outside by 2 hours per day). Every day the leaves would look wilted like it was being overwhelmed by the sun, but a good watering would perk them up.
After about another week i re-potted it into its current container. Unfortunately when i re-potted it we had a series of very windy days - resulting in the damaged portions of the bottom 2 leaves in the pictures above.
I believe a combination of climate changes, shipping, re-potting, and wind are the causes of the stress i am seeing.

Why not put it in the ground? In 10a there is no need to bring it in and it will do so much better in the ground.

I wish i could put it in the ground, i rent my house and my landlord will not allow me to change the landscape.
Here are the new growth pictures:

Keep a look out for worms/caterpillars. I had a pup showing similar damaged leaves and noticed a couple small worms on the leaf. Sometimes they hide in the center of the cigar leaf down at the base where its moist. Look carefully. Small black droppings on lower leaves can also be a sign of worms/caterpillars. I crush them out with my fingers.
