Hi,

The are a number of banana plants at the church I work at (they are all in a row and look the same), and they recently started blooming. I've been wondering what kind they were, and now that there are flowers I thought I would ask. Here are pictures of the plants and flowers. They are fruiting at about 7'-8' tall. Any idea what they are? If they are a good kind I may try to get a pup or two to add to my collection of bananas.

'Orinoco'. You can find a lot of info about this cultivar on this website as they are very common.

Thought so. I didn't want to say anything since I missed the last Ident request. ..... There was no good clear picture of the pstem. But, from the different photo angles, there appears to be only 3 ribs on the fingers, triangular. ... Other varieties have 4 ribs.
