Hello,

I can't seem to identify any information about what is wrong with my new red banana plant. I would really appreciate any advice.

I recently purchased the little plant and it is growing very well, the plant lives indoors with good sun and humidity. The plant gets a new leaf every week, however recently one of the new leaves, developed these large spots, where the leaf turned a bit soggy and then brown, eventually drying out a bit.

I thought it was isolated, but then another new leaf grew out of the center nad is also starting to exhibit similar signs.

Can anyone advise what might be the problem, and what steps I might take to remedy this issue?

Should I cut off the sick leaves?

Pictures attached.

Thank you for your time.

How wet is the soil? ... Potted banana plants need a dry very well draining soil. Water must drain out of the pot. The picture appear to show a self watering pot or a pot that holds water in.

I suspect the banana root ball is water logged and rot is setting in.
