Hello all, I have a question about a banana that I ate approximately 25-30 years ago in Naples Florida in a development called Turtle Lakes. The plant was about 6-10ft tall and leaves were green from what I remember and the inside flesh of the banana was pinkish orange in color. I don’t remember the color of the outside of the banana. I know this is a pretty vague description of the fruit but it is the best banana I have ever tasted and haven’t been able to figure out what variety it is. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Could be any number of different varieties, would need more specific info or a photo to narrow down unfortunately.

I have a variety that looks like a fat sausage and orange to apricot on the inside, it's known as M. Popoulu. No fruit as yet, but I had the opportunity to pick some unripe fruits from the mother tree. Apparently it can be eaten out of hand when ripe but it's more commonly cooked, being a plantain. A popular variety in Hawaii. Mine, incidentally, came from Tonga.
