received a small bulb with other plants last spring, ( april ) it was just a small bulb about the size of a quarter, no stem at all,
planted it in this pot outside to see if it would grow, well it grew to this size in about six months, moved it inside about October before the frosts, the last leaf was just opening up, it finished opening up and then it has just sat there until now and still looks the same, hasn't grown or died. ( five months,) ,,my other indoor plants have grown and put out about five new leafs in this time
it looks a lot different than my other plants, the leaf stems are closed, (others plants are all open ) has a chalky coating and a darker color green,
hopefully some one will have a idea on what it is,

Thanks again!!!

Its far too young to ID. Do you have any other information on it though, such as where it came from? Was it from a nursery, or a friend, and what part of the world are you in/did the plant come from?

I'm in western Kentucky, United States, should be about zone 7a. got it from a lady that said her sister grew them around her pond, I don't know where, assuming kind of close around the area, this one was just a very small bulb, no stem at all.

She also gave me another one that was dry root stored that was about four feet tall, maybe a couple inches in diameter at the base, planted it in the ground and it grew to about ten feet and looked just like the Orinoco that was planted beside it,

that's all I know about it for now

the leaf stems look totally different than my Basjoo's and Orinoco's since they are closed, I just thought that might give it away or narrow it down.

Thank You for your inquiry
