Hello Dear Friends,
A friend of mine has Purchased an AeAe pup,
He kept it indoors during winter time and it seemed to be
fine, it pushed 2 new leaves during the winter, Then when
it started to get warmer he took it out, Placed in a pot and
in a semi shaded area but it got a decent amount of sun,
after a few days It started to get Sun Burns, and older leafs
started to die since its sun exposure wasn't step by step...
he also transplanted it and placed it in a pot twice as big as it
was in before, and the root system was very small when the
transplantion took place, he also did another mistake as far
as i'm concerned, he soaked the plant while transplanting,
It did not "Helped" the plant, it got one stress after another,
root trauma and over watering. Now it's almost 3 weeks after
it had the trauma and it was placed in a shaded area to recover
the plant haven't show no progress since then, its not "Pushing"
new leafs, it haven't even finished to "Push" its last leaf,
the pseudo stem is still "Hard" and not showing signs of rot or
anything, from my personal experiance with bananas when
they are in really bad condition the pseudostem become over soked
and when you touch it , It feels like a sponge, but this is not the
case with the AeAe stem, Its still hard when touched, I will add
a few pics, I need a good advice what my friend needs
do to make it recover ? is it on its way to bite the dust ....or
if the trauma it went through will make it break open and
"Restart" itself with a new pup - from its current pesudostem ?

Looks a little stressed, but should be just fine.

Looks ok to me too. Most likely it’s paused due to the weather. If it gets around 45f just one night a week it is enough to keep one from growing! Just don’t water it much until you see active growth. AEAE is very sensitive to tempature and moisture. Especially when small.

Good luck!

Yep, it will get better with warm weather. Transplanted mine a month or so ago but I am in 9a.

This type of banana or most of other plants would be shock and confuse , when so anything happening in their environment in a short period time. Add to that your friend and your worry . It make you and your friend feel like time is going by so slowly. Just give it sometime to recover. The thing that catch my eyes the most is not your friend banana plant ,but its soil. Is it peat moss or coco coir or something else ? Sphagnum peat moss when moist would look more like dark brow . If the peat moss an coco coir break down correctly, it would have the similar dark brown color. I know most people whom grow AeAe would think this banana like acid soil. However, too much of a good thing can do more harm than good, especially the peat moss and the coco coir I hope this just a top layer and I hope the rest of its soil would be mixing with other organic matter soil that already breaking down. Whatever it is , at this point just leave it alone and let the banana adjust to its new environment.

Thanks a lot, I do understand that it's very sensitive that's why
I guided my friend no to water it until the soil is totally dry, Temps
here are still a bit cold, But its getting warmer, During night time
it gets to 14-13 Celsius, And during daytime it gets about 26-28....
Thanks again for your help,
