I wrapped them in one layer of frost cloth then a simple $2 Christmas lights and another layer of frost cloth. With that the 3 bananas I left outside survived 9F and all 3 are sprouting growth! Next year I will try this with most of them and dig up very few for winter storage.

Regular, non LEDs, cheap kind that we have had for many read. Literally $2 at Hine Depot or Lowes.

It works! I have used this exact method in the past and had better success than any other way! Not too hot. Not too cold! JUST RIGHT!

Great Job Nph!! I can’t wait to see your flowers and fruit later in the year!!! Please post pictures when they fruit!

I know, I am rally happy! Next winter I will avoid digging up my "telephone poles" and drag them into the garage etc and just take a few "just in case"! I am a firm believer in not taking a chance with all. Could be a power outage and Christmas lights dont come on etc.
My little green house had a temporary freeze due to a pulled cord but my stuff in there survived since I caught it after just one night that was not too cold.

I will try and post pictures as soon as they start growing now I feel I have a chance for bananas this year.
