I don't have many types left that I'm growing that I haven't already tried, so I was excited to finally try this one. I've also gotten lazy about taste reports, as most ones new to me lately have just been variants of others I've reviewed or common ones.

TEXTURE-Creamy with a bit of mealiness.

FIRMNESS-Surprisingly soft even when darker green. Similar to a ripe Cavendish when more ripe.

SWEETNESS-Average amount of sweetness. Not overwhelming.

TARTNESS-Wonderful tartness, especially when more dark green. Mostly goes away when there are brown specks on the peel.

RIPENESS-Tasted as pictured, both green and lighter (very slightly yellow) green. Ideal at the stage at which they come apart from the hand, which is still quite green. The ones with brown specs are still quite good, but decline in texture and tangy flavor..

FLAVOR-Some classic banana flavors and other tangy, tropical flavors. Overall interesting and tasty. With the slightly mealy texture, they have a bit of Maoli similarity in the overall taste.

OTHER-The couple I’ve had fruit so far don’t have big bunches, and the plants are on the taller side. The fruit are amongst the worst as far as peel strings sticking to the fruit. If that bothers you, you won’t like them.

OVERALL RATING-7.5--Another very good banana I could eat daily. A good combination of texture, sweetness, tanginess and tropical flavors make it one of the better ones I have. Just not quite as interesting as some other green ripe ones. I’ll be planting more of these.

SUGGESTED USE-Ripe, out of hand.
