The first 18 months of work are starting to show results on our banana plantation :0490: so much that some simple but smart Kanban style management system is needed to control the timing of the soon to be thousands of ripening bagged bunches of Namwah and Gros Michel.

We are presently bagging once a week, we should also be colour tagging the bags.

I would be very interested if any planters in this forum could share their experience in implementing this simple system in order to easily and visually identify the bunches that are becoming ready for harvest.
Our thanks to all the participating members of this forum for the wonderful and much appreciated advice!

I used to bag a lot of my bunches when I sold a lot of Nam Wah. As I moved to plantains, it wasn't as necessary. I had different colors of flagging tape: White, Black, Blue, Orange, Pink, Red, Yellow and then I could combine two colors to get to the roughly 16 color combinations that I needed. It's easy enough to implement, but I found that since I was the one doing the harvesting it wasn't that important.
