So last year, (2017), I did not do anything to my Musa basjoo. They died back to ground level and I let them do what they shall. The result were massive clumps almost 20 feet tall! No fruit, but each clump had a dozen plants.
So this coming year, I will divide and conquer. All the water suckers will be thrown in the heap. Replaced with these new plants. Then the rest will be on the side of the road.
I guess, at that point, I will have corms for sale.
Interesting, how just a few short seasons ago, I was nursing two mail-order plants over the winter.
