Hey all,
I'm in Houston, TX and I've got a Blue Java that bloomed in November and has about 10 hands on it. We just had a freeze down to 30F that killed all of the leaves. I wrapped the stem and bunch with burlap and the bunch appears to still be alive. No black or signs of damage to the bunch.
Do any of you have experience with a fruiting banana that loses all of it's leaves? I assume it will not grow new leaves since it has already fruited. Should I just go ahead and cut it down??
I've got a few more pups a few feet from fruiting height that should recover in the spring.
Thanks,
Matt
