What kind of banana is it? How large is the pot?

self watering pot [big nono] not enough potting soil in the pot. probably could use a little larger pot. for starters. what general part of the world you be?

I live In Florida and water it about every other day. The soil in the pot is well draining

For better results you should use a 15 to 20 gallon well draining pot. Cut back on watering in the winter, the plants will go dormant and not need much if any water.

Which part of Florida? Maybe a pot isn't necessary?

Your plant looks in poor condition......
That could be a factor.

I'd get a slightly bigger pot, and maybe something that breathes better like clay or an airpot (http://air-pot.com/garden/) and for the love of everything holy to you replant that thing pointing straight up!! ;)

But seriously, it needs some more dirt (you have way too little dirt in that pot), a pot with some great drainage; and if you've truly had it two years at that height it's probably also lacking some good yum yums (nutrients) so try adding some REAL good soil to that pot when you redo it. Go to a local hydroponics store and find some Fox Farm Ocean Forest, some worm castings and some extra growstones to mix into the soil. You compost? got compost based on eggshells? add that too.

This could be a glorious tree, but it just needs some TLC :). You got this!
