Today I was let go by The Home Depot in San Diego CA where I have been working 40 hours per week as a seasonal employee in the garden department. I was hoping to get on full-time, but instead I'm now looking for new job opportunities. San Diego is overcrowded with people in the nursery trades, so I might have to look for other types of work.

Well they sure let the wrong person go! I'm sure many people benefited by your knowlege and have nicer looking yards because of it.

So sorry and good luck.

I should send that store manager this site that shows you know way more than the other nursery workers at Home depot. Just think in the last month how many times you have anwsered my questions that they told me the wrong info on...That Manager should pay more attention to his employees....With your knowledge it wont take long for you to find a better job!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for your condolences. I really liked that job. And because of that job, I am in great physical shape and adequate financial shape to enjoy my upcoming vacation at http://www.bananas.org/f9/lake-thomas-edison-4045.html. So my biggest regret is loss of customers I was building relationships with and the paid exercise program.

Kylie, I've not sold anything online but I have traded plants and given away extras in the past. My careers have all centered around teaching and research. Most of what I have to offer is available online here: Frost Concepts (http://www.frostconcepts.com/).

Richard: Sorry to hear the bad news. I hope you find a better one next time. They sure let the wrong person go.

Richard,

My condolences as well. Maybe with your past in research you could team up with someone working on banana research. Of course, that may not pay the bills...I'm sure you'll be be back on your feet again in no time. Good luck!
