Scott, you need to get one of them. Grow them indoors in a pot and get them out as much as possible until it's safe to plant in the ground. Even where you are you may get a bunch.

Hahaha.
I am really gonna make you mad now! As of today I have a 13' Tigua with a flower and 2 patupis at 12' with flowers :08:
I agree with Steve. Try a VC or a Raja Puri. The USDA RP is different than the Florida one. I planted a 2' RP this March and it flowered 2 weeks ago. Pretty fast! And very cold hardy! And wouldn't get more than 5' up there.
My Musa Floridas didn't come close. Grew great but no flowers. I do not recommend them as a short cycle plant! They pup like crazy! I have 7 pups on one of them. No joke!!! The variegated namwa mailong is a horrible grower also! If you want a variegated banana get a V dwarf namwa or Musa Ta-Née. They are beautiful and by far the best growers!
I will post my yearly results in a couple months. Everything was about a month to late to be "perfect" Ill just prune most to 1 hand and maybe get something.
I have become obsessed with finding SDC's that fruit reliably. I have 3 types so far and am planning to make an entire super dwarf plantation!! Haha. How crazy looking will that be!!
I have:
Musa Novak - the original. It's a keeper.
SDC from Thailand I got in a trade that fruits yearly.
SDC from a trade off one fruiting now! It's originally from Logees.
Next year it will be cool to see if I can fruit these 3. I also have 2 types that Do Not fruit!

Been doing that for a few years now. have several very close. Timing is everything! Did get bananas on them 2 years ago.

I am sold out of VC fresh cut pups. Thank you to everyone who bought them!
I have a few larger ones that are rooted in a soilless mix for my use next year. I may be willing to sell a few of them. Price and shipping would be a little higher.

Hi tytaylor
You're looking for AA types?
I could sell you a senorita that I brought with me from the Philippines last year.
Unfortunately I live in Switzerland and that makes the deal nearly impossible. ;(

Thanks Maesy! Wow I’ve been looking for that one! I’ve heard amazing things about Senorita! I’m in love with the SE Asia AA types. They have a lot of very fast growers with very short filling times.
My absolute favorite mix is 50/50 Earthgro potting soil by Scott’s. It is usually close to 90% pure rice hulls. Then the other 50% of the mix is perlite. I use this to build a nice rootball before going into the ground. Try it! It drains faster than coarse sand! Amazing stuff. And the corm after it’s in the ground will have this “pot sized” well draining soil around it the whole first year! I’ve also found Scott’s top soil with pure rice hulls. They are fresher in the top soil.
If I’m planing to have it planted longer I will mix peat moss in.
Thanks to everyone who got the pups! I hope they do great for you!!!!
