Been around a while and bought many different banana cultivars from people on here but this is the first one I have had bloom. I guess it is one thing that liked the 50 inches of rain with got with hurricane harvey. http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=62246&size=1 (http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=62246&ppuser=21325) Note I have not posted a photo on here in a long time so I may have done this wrong. I have other photos but only this one uploaded successfully. And yes, for some reason the photo was turned sideways when uploaded. Edit Fixed it.

Could it be a PRAYING HANDS? If your pics don't load they may be too large.

Wait until it is done making real bananas and after it makes a dozen or so hands of male bananas (Little ones that either fall off or dry up) then get a pic of the flower bud, the whole bunch, and the plant from about 10-15 feet away. That will help a lot to I.D. it.

Did you figure it out? Asking because it looks very similar to one I have in bloom/fruiting right now, and I'm straight west of you (Katy area).

Sorry about the delay, got caught up in Harvey cleanup mode. I have several photos but am having issues getting them to upload but at least this one worked. This is the bud itself, the green bananas start further up.
