Hello,
I live in Thonotosassa, FL and I need help with one of my Banana tree transplants. My son gave me a cutting from a banana tree from the Miami area. It is about 3 ft tall but the top 2 ft of it has turned yellow and brown and soft. Should i cut this off or just leave it be?

I have another one that I have grown from a 4 inch sprout. It seems to be doing ok but has some white on its leaves. The tree is now about 6 ft tall.

I uploaded pictures but have no idea how long it takes to be able to actually see them or be able to use them in a story.

Welcome to the Bunch.

The black spot on the pstem is a fungus. It looks to be well involved into the pstem. ... I would cut the pstem off just above the soil and top of the corm (hopefully) before the fungus can get into the corm. Then hope the pstem will regrow.
