My corm came in a pretty large box with a hefty sized plant inside. This thing grows fast and so far the leaves don't burn like I see on other variegates. I see no growth difference between this plant and normal green plants. I hear it is a wild balbisiana with seeds but I don't care. It is 4 foot at the top of the pseudo and around 7 foot at the top of the leaf.

Look great!!!! I just got my first pup on mine! I agree mine also grows way better than other variegated Musa! Close to as good as variegated dwarf namwa!
I agree 100% yours looks like a balbisiana! Looks exactly like my Thai black and green!! Looking great man! Keep us updated!

I can't wait to try my first seeded banana fruit. Maybe I am crazy but I always wanted to try one. Now if I could get a variegated wild acuminata that would be novel for me.

The fruit on mine last year were quite small and I didn't bother to try eating anything. I've been growing this for quite a few years now and just grow it for the pretty leaves. Much easier than the Ae Ae that I sent to heaven!

How tall do yours get? How small were the fruits? Like mysore maybe? Is it just a packet of seeds basically? I still love my plants no matter what I just am curious. I have never seen much about it or photos of perspective.

The mother plant I have right now is about 10-11' tall and it seems about the same height as the one I had flower last year. I can't remember for sure, but thinkt he fruits were maybe 1" in diameter and 4" long.

Thank you Harvey for the info! It's hard to find a lot of info on Musa Ta-Née!! Your tropical storm is not being very nice to me right now! LMAO
That sounds right on point to be a form of wild balbisiana. I've read that the old "real" Ta-Née had edible sweet fruit! Anyone (Gabe) ever seen or heard of one with seedless fruit?

Mine has a problem with dead spots on the leaves sometimes. It seems that they are like weak spots. They come out alive but very thin and without that waxy leaf coating.
They dry if they're in the sun but they can stay there if shaded.
I think it may be part of the multi color variegation. Perhaps as a texture variant to it.
Any of you guys notice it on your plants?

Same here! All my leaves look awesome. Ta-Née and variegated dwarf namwa are my best looking variegated bananas by far!! Mine is only 4-5' I will keep an eye on it for what your describing.
Thanks!
