I would love to add a banana to my other tropical plant collection. I look forward to reading and learning about the care of banana plants. Thank you for adding me to your forum.:0519:

Hi a4patch and welcome, I'm not sure where in the world you are, but that may suggest certain varieties to us other members. There are a few hardy varieties and many not so hardy ones. Do you want it to remain outside all year, or do you want a summer-only outside plant? How big do you want it to get? Finally, do you want fruit?

Cheers!

"Banana mom to be "

Don't worry, the Nana plant does all the work. ... Just feed & water it.

Thank you so much for the warm response. I'll answer multiple questions at one time.
I live in zone 7 Virgina.
I would like a banana plant that could be out side or I have a unfinished basement that could serve as a winter home. Although it is not heated.

I would love to have a plant that bears fruit.

I have seen banana plants in my area that the person builds a make shift green house or covering ?? around each winter. I would love to find out more about this possibility also.
