Hello from South Florida,

I'm just getting into bananas and I find that I prefer the ones with a good bit of sour/subacid flavors to them.

This community looks to be the best source of banana knowledge so I look forward to reading the previous threads and learning.

I have a canal bank that I would like the fill with a few sturdy banana varieties. Thinking of Raja Puri, and possibly some others.

Currently I'm growing on the side of my house:
Dwarf Cavendish,
Mystery Banana from India (Kerala)
Mysore (I think)

I plan on replacing these with Cuban Red and Kandarian (hard time finding this in Broward, FL). I want a nice tall sturdy bananas on the side of my house.

Well that is my story for now.

Thanks

Welcome to bananas.org.
Mysore varieties like Pisang Ceylon or Pisang Klotek will be right down your alley if you like bananas with a sub acid flavor, tall plant.
Manzano is another possibility, sturdy plant.
In your growing zone 10B you should be able to grow pretty much any variety.

I was going to say Manzano, too... Maybe Veinte Cohol, but I have never had it but I hear it's pretty tart. Brazilian is tall and pretty tart as well, but not as much as Manzano.
