Does anyone know if Silver Bluggoe and Blue Java are the same? I am going to do a side by side blue Java, Silver Bluggoe, and Pisang Abu Perak but I believe for several reasons blue Java and Silver Bluggoe are the same. Maybe someone has already done this.

Not the same. See the Kepler & Rust book, which breaks down the differences between them.

Unless there is an open source to view the book I am not in a position to buy the book so i guess I will just grow them side by side and make my own records since nobody seems to be able to point out data facts. Since I have them I wanted to do side by sides and maybe get a little heads up.

The book Rob mentions is pretty reliable data Id suggest. Qld Dpi Also lists them as different. Not sure where its mentioned they are the same. Given how sought after blue java is, if it was the same as silver bluggoe, people here would know.

Comparing generic photos I they look very similar and I was told but have not confirmed USDA considers them the same. In my research synonyms and data seems scattered. I don't even know if specimens are accurate due to cultural variablrecently have noticed recently makes a big difference. Pisang kepok was listed by one source as silver bluggoe but everywhere else saba. The book would be nice but dentist, food, and my disabled wife take priority at the moment.

I dont have the book either. But I know my blue java and silver bluggoe are different as qld dpi grows both and lists them as different. As for characteristics this may help:
