We got these bananas about 1 1/2 years ago. Someone was thinning out their bananas and posted on Facebook for free.
They seem to be growing pretty good. The growth this spring is from about 2 1/2 ft off the ground. I chopped them to that height and insulated them with straw and then tarped them up for the winter.

They look good, but they are not Musa basjoo. They appear to be the edible cultivar 'Orinoco' which is very common and a hardy plant.

I meant to put a question mark in the title before I posted. Thanks for helping to ID them.
It was round 100 degrees the day I took that pic. We are supposed to get rain most of the week. The temps will be cooler too. That should help them look happier. The wind here unfortunately tears them up really bad.

Also even though they are a little short. They are all tall Orinoco.

The bunch to the left has a flower :08:
Unfortunately there isn't much time left of the growing season here in North Texas.
