Thanks y'all!:2738:These are my first banana trees. It's been a rough start but I think they are doing much better. 1 of the trees actually has a small shoot coming up on the side now. Time will tell. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Welcome from another Texan. I'm south-east of you on lake Toledo Bend!

What 2 varieties are you growing?

Tytaylor77, I have no idea what variety of banana trees I have. They're green! :lurk: I got them from a guy who brought them up from McAllen. It was a rough go at first. I wasn't sure they would make it. Most of the leaves turned brown after being planted. I read they were in shock so I put sugar/aspirin water on them. Lo and behold a beautiful green leaf shot out of the center of 1 of them. Now there's a little shoot coming out on the side of it. The other 1 is still struggling but it's still partially green so I have high hopes it will pull through.

Awesome! Just be very easy on watering until they get back established. When they get going post some pictures we may be able to ID them.

Good luck!
It's nice to see other Texans on here. PM me anytime if you have questions or need help.
