plant hardiness to drought

A year-long drought in one region can be a year of above average rain in another. Pisang Awak can be water frugal but as with any crop the size and quality of the harvest can be poor.

With regard cold hardiness, it will shrug off brief pre-dawn trips to -1C or -2C but perish in a hard freeze (sustained temperatures below 0C for 8 hours or more).

Despite those two things, it's my favorite banana to grow in my location.
