Hi so the sword pup I planted from last summer is already close to 5 feet of stem. You haven't seen bananas grow until they're in the ground! It has four pups and will probably grow another 3-4 feet this year. The dc in in a hot & humid climate (90-100F) almost every day. By November it will be cooling down. Who's growing them in ground and has had success?
I know I'll have to wait it out.

Tallest one I've ever had was about 8'
I've had gran nains get upto 8.5'-9'
They love the TX heat! Cavendish don't even blink at 100F+ days but when it hits low 50s at night they slam on the brakes!

Mine fruited at about five feet. The tallest leaves reached to about eight feet. If yours are pupping, I would think you have a flag leaf about to appear.
