A number of years ago I planted a pineapple top and it grew. Last year it fruited. Last spring I put it out side. I do not have a good winter location for it. Anyway it wasn't long before wildlife decided to try it. I harvested it and brought it in to the kitchen. It ripened, and though only 8 inches tall it was sweet and delicious.

The plant did not die nor put up pups around the base. it has put out a shoot near the top of the plant, like one leaf below the very top.

Does any one have suggestion as to what do now.

I live in St Louis, MO zone 7.

Thanks,
George

I have a few plants that have produced fruit. All my pineapple plants are in containers. I just leave the new plant alone and all the pups have gotten stronger and look great.

If it is just one new slip, leave it as is. If there are many, you can plant each individually in a new pot.
