I'm getting ready to go on vacation for 8 days. How long can the banana plants go without watering in sunny 90 degree weather? What does everyone do if you don't have someone who can come over and water?

they sell the cheap hose bib timers, then you can put sprayers or sprinklers on the timers where you need them.

If they are in the ground rather than in pots and you soak them in really well before you leave, they should be fine until you return. Then again, the timers the other guys mentioned are not a bad idea at all.

I just soak them really good before heading out on vacation. I also pray for rain! They will do fine. Red

People,
You are all welcome to all the rain you can get from Seattle (B-Y-O-B!) LOL! It's been raining for the last week or so, and forecast in the next 2 weeks is more of the same. Average temps forecast: 63°F High, 40°F Lows. You can take the temperature too, if you can, and bring some 75°F - 85°F. And more importantly, bring sunshine! I guess this is global warming.
