I forgot which of the two spray tanks is used for fertilizer and which for Roundup. Found the smaller one first that had a bunch of mix left over so I used it.

Turned out to be the fertilizer solution. Further search found the Roundup sprayer which is clearly marked for weed killer. Mixed up a new batch and went at it. I hope this never happens again!!! It's too hot out there !!!!!!!

Used the correct tank this time and used FRESH Roundup. This is most important.

When I lived In Charlotte, NC I had a contractor put in 5 large trees that would shade the south facing deck. He said it's ok to use leftover last years Roundup for flower bed clean up but for fast removal of grass sod for tree panting it must be fresh!!!

The best way to avoid this kind of confusion is to not have any Roundup at all :2140:

No way!!! In S FLA I would be buried in weeds and all the mess that goes with it. I spray Roundup, then weed whack when weeds turn good and brown. New weeds will eventually sprout due to seed scatter. It never ends. I remember it being used extensively on weeds in the concertina wire in VN.

Yes, it is a war that can't be won ;)
What I did in my garden (subtropical asia) is to engage a mercenary ! I searched and found local weeds that are useful to me and introduced them in the garden. With my help the "good weeds" battled and replaced the "bad weeds". Now I just "whack and harvest".
The weeds I choose are Gotu kola (Centella asiatica), lemon grass for the sunny areas. I choose a local fern for the shadow areas, I don't use the fern other than marvel at it's beauty.
I definitely abandoned the idea to have a perfect lawn as it is just unhealthy for the local eco-system.

Oh and the lemon grass clippings are great mulch for the banana ;)

And the lemongrass keeps the mosquitos away!!! I have 2 stands planted on each end of the banana row out back.
