I've not had the fruit yet (probably this year), but everyone I've talked to about bananas recommends them. They say the fruit are very good and they're a probably the best all-around banana to have growing.

You cannot go wrong with them.
If I could only grow one, that would probably be it. Pups easy, nice sized bunches. Delicious.

Just know that I bought "Dwarf Nam Wah" and I have one that's got 11 feet of p-stem already. Not so "dwarf", but it's fine for me. Not sure if mine is just Tall Nam Wah or if it's just a really big "dwarf". Anyway, my Nam Wah were much more vigorous than my Ice Creams. They grew about twice as fast.

Namwa is excellent. Very sweet banana. They get huge so give them room. 17' with a base pstem like an oak tree haha. You can see the picture to the left under my name. That's a monster 17' namwa bunch from last year! And I'm in zone 8! Huge bunches.

Wow! 17' is no joke. Was yours a "dwarf" as well? Maybe I have 6' more to go. Glad to see someone else with a big bunch of Nam wah in zone 8. That's my zone too, so gives me hope to see some fruit this season.

Dwarf Namwah is not as dwarf than someone might think. I grow them side by side with tall Namwah and they usually fruit at around 10' p-stem height, while tall Namwah fruits at around 15'. We love the fruits of both.

I reckon N W are too sweet but they are great for banana cakes ans banana milkshakes they grow well here. We have one Mat. I usually freeze the peeled fruit and use as needed. If you like a very sweet banana you'd like them.

Thanks for the information.
I have three Namwah's (supposedly). One is just over ten feet tall and 26 inches in circumference measured three feet from the ground. I guess I should get a flower soon or maybe I have the tall Namwah. The other two are about 9.5 feet tall.
I say "supposedly" because the tallest one looks different from the other two. He has sorta light rhubarb color candy cane stripes mixed into the green from the pstem into the first part of the ribs. The other two are green so I have some doubts.
I'll post a photo tomorrow if there is some good light available (lot of rain and clouds today).

Pstem and rib colors of my namwahs. They look exactly alike except for the difference in the Pstems. Is this normal? They are side by side in the patch and receive exactly the same feeding, watering, etc.

All of them I have seen have the rhubarb color, especially on the leaf midrib.
Not everyone likes them...
