I purchased a couple Namwah corms and they threw in a couple sword suckers too.
I have them in coarse sand right now, but I am not sure where to go now.
Am I supposed to cut them back?
In coarse sand do I need to add fertilizer?
Should I and some peat and/or compost to the sand?
At what temp is it safe to plant outside?
I'm in Phoenix so a light frost could happen by Febuary. I don't think we'll get one though this year.
We're having a zone 10 winter this year.
Thanks in advance. I so glad I found this site. All of you are so full of information. All of you have been a big help.
I've got the banana bug bad. Lol.

In my experience the difference between sword suckers and water suckers is nutrient availability. Both will develop into fine plants if provided a reasonable level of nutrients during their development from pups to juvenile pstems.

A poor choice ... or at least you received poor advice.
If you are a novice gardener, read this: http://www.bananas.org/f310/richards-guide-potted-plant-care-46311.html

Regardless, read this: http://www.bananas.org/f310/richards-guide-homegrown-bananas-46227.html

Am I supposed to cut them back?

No.

Best wishes in your new adventure!
