I bought a 'MUSA ACUMINATA SUPER DWARF CAVENDISH BANANA' .
I just transplanted if from its 4 inch pot that it came in to a 6 inch pot using Miracle gro Cactus-citrus potting soil . I read not to move to an overly large pot right away, need to slowly work up to it. I was wondering how heavy this plant will get. I live in western NY so planned on moving outside in the summer and back in for the winter but was wondering how hard it will be to move.
Using "light" soil (soilless mix) and a plastic pot will mean your plant is easier to move. I don't need pots here so I don't have your issues. An SDC will require much more than a 6" pot if you want fruit as I'm sure you do. Hopefully others in colder climates will chime in and help you more than I can.
Welcome! Nice to see another woman on the forum--not sure why but we double Xs are rare here. ;)

Kat2, thanks for responding. yes, I want fruit. I will move to a bigger pot gradually. I read somewhere, not to move it to to big a pot too soon. to move it gradually. Did I read bad info?
I don't know that it matters if pot is large; I plant them in the ground which means they aren't contained. As long as you keep up with transplanting, you should be fine I'd think.

LW..
Here is a simple guide for your container size when you up pot your plants.
As the plant matures it will require even larger containers than what is shown.
A 5 gallon bucket is on the right for comparison.

Your plant is an awesome small plant since it is in a container you can place it anywhere in your yard/house where there is lots of sunlight.
In your zone expect your plant to be similiar in size in 2-5 years and weigh about 40-50lbs when wet.
