Do u think they stand any chance in the shade? Have all of your other all white pups died off now?

No, but they stay beautiful a lot longer plus I'm throwing dozens in there each week so there'll always be more than enough growing.

When I find some time to waste I'll fruit one of the Whiteys and take a photo.

Thanks Hector, these bananas really stand out even with the low light in the jungle. Plus I still get to collect all the variegated pups they put out.

That would be so cool. Please do. Maybe post a " How To" with Whiteys.

Whiteys are interesting... you never know what the next leaf will be.

Every prior leaf was completely white and then this splotch of green.

It still got tossed into the jungle.

Fruiting a Whitey is simple and I had the perfect opportunity to do it a couple months ago with that Greenie that had a Whitey pup.

It can be done with any banana plant, just keep one pup and then restrict the growth of the mother plant so that the pup outgrows it and flowers first.
