Hi all
Its my first winter for my bananas here in the uk we are at the end of oct and night time tempatures are about 5 to 6 c the bananas are still growing a new leaf very slowly but still growing i am going to bring them into my conservatry for the winter, but when would be the best time now or leave a bit longer till it gets colder.

while it does depend on the variety
6C was cold enough to damage leafs on my cavendish last year

It depends on what variety you have, if its musa Basjoo, which i assume it is, since you say its still growing, you can keep it outdoors year round as long as its planted in the ground, the leaves will die but the p-stem will stay fine unless we have a very cold winter, any other variety will have to be brought in.

5 Celsius = 41 Fahrenheit

I am in Southwest Ohio....USA.

My zone is exactly like yours.....
I will keep all plants out till a Hard freeze warning...then I will start moving them around or close to the house.

However....if the temps DO NOT go below 34-35.......1-2 Celsius....your/I'm still good..
For a short period of time.
Keep the outside as long as you can....wait till the last minute.

Your plants will endure this temp with no adverse effects .....
