Triple play...
With three easy cuts this container is split....as you can see it is bursting from the sides.
YOU CAN do this this (cut them apart) at the end of this season, and separate them the next season.......I do this all the time.
Saves on stress and repotting hassles.

so did you put them back into the one container after separating to save floor space indoors?

This plant I planted out in the yard, but I do exactly as you suggested when I want to separate them and hold them in one container of a while. This way the root structure/rootball is still somewhat undisturbed .

The plant actually blew over in a storm and broke low on the stem and I just let it be till it got to this size. It took awhile.

Yes it is a lot of fun! These big leafy plants come with plenty of challenges, and your results are directly tied to the effort you put into it.

Thanks.... Mark,
Here is another photo depicting a couple of spent flowered Pstems that have grown a pup to the side of the container.
In zone 6 this took a season to grow these plants..
