Anyone living in the Buffalo, NY area and would like free banana plants, please contact me fast. With the cold weather approaching they won't live long outside the pot. These are large size divisions so I hope you have the room for them by a nice sunny window.

Today I divided up my Musa 'Little Prince' since I'll never be able to carry the entire plant up stairs by myself. Way to heavy with 4 large stems and a bunch of smaller ones as well almost bursting the pot. I've kept one division but the rest will have to go. So before I throw them in the trash if you want them, come and get them.

Thanks!
Kurt

Bare root them ... cut the pstem back to about 6 or 8 inches; wash the soil off of the roots. Let the roots air dry for a few hours; then put a plastic bags over the roots; and store in a cool place. Next spring when the weather warms repot. There is no reason to throw the plants away.

I'll take your suggestion and give it a try. It worked with my ensets when I had them, so what the heck. If they make it they make it. I still have one to carry one with. But if someone wants one, I have three left.

Those are some great looking plants.....I wish I lived a little closer.

All the good stuff is usually not in walking distance:08:
