I'm off to Oahu and was wondering what the most common banana varieties eaten in Hawaii are and where I can find some of them? (farmers markets or the like?). I'm wondering if GM is available anywhere to try too.
Thanks

Doubtful you'll find GM. At least at the farmer's markets on the Big Island you'll find Williams, Brazilian, Cuban Reds, Saba, Lakatan, Kluay Khai, though the first 2 far outnumber anything else you'll find. I'd imagine fewer options on Oahu given limited agriculture and their problem with bunchy top virus. I know there was a thread in the past here about Namwah being found in a store there.

I think GM is called Bluefields in Hawaii, maybe try asking around.
