Hi all. I've got a dwarf variety here that is just putting out an inflorescence. The pseudo-stem is about 2.5ft to 3ft tall. I'm guessing either Super Dwarf Cavendish or Truly Tiny?

This little stand started from one little tree I put in the ground spring of last year (2015). It died back some over the winter, but rebounded really quickly! If I remember correctly, the original one did die back completely, so the stand of 3 or 4 you see here (including the one about to bloom) were pups this past late winter/spring. The flowering one *might* be a pup from last year the survived winter by being sheltered from the bigger one that died.

Anyone got an idea of the variety? I'm guessing it may be easier to identify when the fruit matures?

Thanks!

Thanks, all. Ya, it's a very handsome little banana - very carefree & healthy. I literally have done nothing with it but water the beds when we're between rains. I also have Gran Nain which is fruiting now, Double Mahoi, Zebrina, Siam Ruby, & M. lasiocarpa. Lasiocarpa flowered last summer & was very cool looking!
