Do you like them? I ask because it seems some people have one kind they believe is 3640 and some have another imposter they think is 3640. Some love them and others hate them. I want a corm from someone who loves them. First, I want a Paggi as those are some great bananas.

I have harvested two bunches of my mats so far and liked them a lot even though they were not filled in 100% due to approaching cold temperatures. Cannot wait to try a summer ripened bunch.

Don't worry about it crazy:confused:, that happens to a lot of org members.
If you want to find out what it is start a thread in Banana Identification (http://www.bananas.org/f12/)
You should have realized it wasn't a SH-3640 after you examined the male bud, but there are many other descriptors that will help you.
If you want to grow a real SH-3640, try to get one from Lau in LA.

Will do.
I have heard that your SH3640 and mine came from the same source, so I am not overly worried as long as I like the fruits.
Talking about constructive criticism: since Susan's plant is still very small, maybe you are willing to send me a corm, so I can compare them side by side and we can stop all the rubbish talk about growing in different environments, mutants etc.?
Please send PM, willing to reimburse you for your time and expenses.

Other members have also said they got them from the same source, but that's not really important.
One of those members and I both had our SH-3640 blooming at the same time in the same city but they were clearly different plants.
When a member who's from the same area as our same source asks for plants I used to refer them to him, until I got multiple replies stating they've been to his yard and he doesn't know what's planted where.
Half of the plants I received from our same source were incorrectly labeled, so I'm not surprised that some folks get the correct plant and some don't.

That is just sad.
Have send you a PM in hope for the real deal, possibly some other plants.
