I started this post over at Growing on the Edge because I knew some of the guys grew ensete 'Tandarra Red' last year. Anyway if there is anything you guys can add here or there that would be great.
Thanks
Steve

This is posted on the Sooner Plant Farm website:

Tandara Red Banana This is an excellent foliage plant with waxy fronds of deep green reddish-purple tones and leaf margins. Very similar to Ensete 'Maurellii', but slightly more contrasting leaf and vein colour.Use for an exotic tropical look.

and two pics:

Just received this email today so I have the same questions I guess :)

I read the thread on 'growing on the edge' and agree pretty much. I'm growing both Tandarra Red and Maurellii. absolutely no difference at all, its the same plant, Its bound to be suspect when someone starts marketing an Ensete as a musa just because they think Musa are more marketable. Montbelliardii is different (see my recent photo)but whether its the same as the US Maurelli or indeed the 1950's Monty who knows. It'd be nice if DRC would come on here and put us straight.
